What is Blind Sport LT?

Blind Sport LT is Lithuania's first and only blind tennis club, dedicated to athletes with visual impairments of all levels.

Our mission is to provide people with visual disabilities the opportunity to enjoy sport, grow as athletes, build friendships and compete both nationally and internationally. We believe sport is a universal language that unites people regardless of physical differences.

Working in line with ITF (International Tennis Federation) regulations, we organise regular training sessions, local and international tournaments, and actively promote the integration of visually impaired people into society through sport.

What is Blind Tennis?

Blind tennis is a specially adapted version of tennis designed for people with visual impairments. Players use a specially designed ball that makes a sound, allowing them to track it by hearing alone.

Eyeshade mask mandatory. Court: 12.80Γ—6.10 m. Up to 3 ball bounces.

B2

Very limited vision
Court: 18.28Γ—8.23 m. Up to 3 ball bounces.

B3

Moderate residual vision
Court: 18.28Γ—8.23 m. Up to 2 ball bounces.

B4

Highest residual vision
Court: 18.28Γ—8.23 m. 1 ball bounce.

Space and Equipment

How do blind and visually impaired people play tennis? Blind tennis uses a special audible ball, a reduced court size, an increased number of allowed ball bounces, and raised or high-contrast court lines that help players orient themselves safely and play with confidence.

Game Principles and Rules

Blind tennis follows the core principles of regular tennis, but the rules are adapted so blind and visually impaired players can safely orientate, hear the ball, and play dynamically. A special audible ball, an increased number of allowed bounces, and clear Ready / Yes / Play communication make the game accessible for different vision levels.
